Trails

Walking the Farm and the adjacent conservation properties is a delight in any season. In winter, the rolling hills of the farm together with a generous snowfall provide excellent sledding, cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing. For plant lovers, spring brings wildflowers and the first shoots of new raspberry canes. Rabbits, hawks, deer and coyotes may also be spotted. As spring turns to summer, the trails beckon the serious naturalist as well as the casual walker. The hot lazy days of summer bring a stillness punctuated by the sounds of insects and birds. The sharp-eyed may find a golden garden spider hiding in the raspberry canes. As summer wanes, the raspberries ripen and activity picks up as carloads of friends and neighbors come to harvest the delicious but fragile fruit. In fall, the farm with its brilliant foliage becomes a paradise for strollers.
